If there is an App to save money on groceries, I have it!! Now, remember the keys to saving money from the book...*if your store is not on here, please message me and I will include it! Please no mom & pop shops, corner stores or convenience stores.
1. Use your pantry first (pantry, freezer, dehydrated meals, canned goods, prepped meals) .
2. Plan your meals & proteins (1 protein = 2 to 3 meals stretch that protein like your grandmother did portion sizes have been xl to long and our pants size now for a woman is 22 for a man 36 (updated). Add more vegetables, grains, beans, broth, salads, all nutritious and filling.
3. Don't buy pre-cut produce this is the biggest waste of money in the grocery store! You are paying up to 150% markup and wasting your money. (most of the time the produce is not fresh it's frankly moldy and the store is trying to make more money off of it) Buy frozen or cut your own, save the seeds and tops and grow your own in pots, around the edge of your house, in water with solution of nutrients as in the book.
4. Know the times to buy with holidays and look for clearance in the meat department. Be a cherry picker!
5. Use Ibotta, Lozo, Honey, Flipp, manufacture coupons see my page for all the coupons, stack flyers, digital coupons, double coupons in certain stores, and cashback on cards, and receipt apps (lots of them!) to get the most money back (I use 4-6 of them!) If your friends don't do this technique, ask for their receipts! Sharing is caring $$
6. Have Gas Stations, libraries, friends and family save coupons, for you (knowing what you use). Print coupons off from the coupon section of this website. Links to Ibotta, Lozo, Honey, Flipp and links to manufactures sites directly! Don't forget the Rebate Page!
7. If you are interested in going too fast food restaurants ALWAYS, ALWAYS, use an app (see below for the apps) they save you money and you get free food most with no purchase required on certain days. Some with 25% off if you have a membership or more. If you're going out to eat at a supper club look for a website (some use Groupon, Valpack, even coupon books) to see if they have specials only available online to save money. For discounts going out or gift cards are another way to save money and pay less offering a discount buying a gift card through Costco is cheaper than buying it through a regular store.
